Chickasaw County, Railroad Stories, Model Manufacturers, RR Artifacts

The first thing to catch your attention is the large interpretive model of Chickasaw County replete with three operational train lines, towns, farms, rural schools, waterways, highways, bridges, woodland, a pioneer trading post and even a cemetery.

With the exception of the trains, each element of this impressive display was individually handcrafted to replicate actual buildings and natural forms. Historic photos, maps, and authentic artifacts help tell the story of how the railroads shaped the local landscape and influenced the lives of people.

Displays of Lionel, American Flyer, and Marx toy trains, a 1/8″ scale steam locomotive and coal car, and an exquisite, handcrafted wood model from the turn of the century adds yet another dimension to this richly varied exposition.
