This program provides an overview of the Carnegie libraries in Iowa and insight into some of our neighboring Carnegie communities.

The Carnegie Library in Iowa Project (CLIP) is working to collect and preserve the documentation related to the building of the Carnegie libraries in the state. The information that has been collected has been digitized and made available on the website (dsps.lib.uiowa.edu/clip). The collection of materials across the state will expand our knowledge of the similarities and difference of each community’s experience. Presenter, Shana Stuart has served as Director of CLIP since 2004; she is adjunct instructor at the University of Iowa with a Ph.D. in Art History and a MLIS.
